The Seventh Chakra, also known as the Sahasrara or the crown chakra, is one of the primary chakras. It is described as a lotus flower with 1,000 petals of different colors and is located at the top of the head. It is said to be the most subtle chakra in the system, relating to pure consciousness, and it is from this chakra that all the other chakras emanate.
Another creative outlet of mine is I make and sell elaborate hats, headdresses and other wearable art.
When I started attending festivals in 2016, I was dazzled by the beautiful headwear I’d see worn by belly dancers as well as the other festival attendees that surrounded me. The occasional vendor would carry some of these hats and headdresses that I could try on, but none of them were big enough to fit my larger-than-average-sized head.
Inspired by the art I had seen, and fueled by my ever-insatiable desire to create, I started making my own.
First making them randomly for fun, then began making custom orders for friends, then strangers, and eventually I had the honor of working for clients such as EDC Mexico and Wild Muse Boutique, located inside Area15 in Las Vegas.
In order to keep prices low and to reduce the carbon footprint created by packaging corporations, most of the materials used to make my creations are sourced from the East Bay Depot for Creative Reuse, which is an eco-minded resale shop in Oakland. The mission of The East Bay Depot is to divert waste materials from landfills by collecting and redistributing discarded goods as low-cost art supplies. Check them out here.
